Guaranteed Traffic?👌

My experience has been that virtually all “guaranteed traffic” sites are nothing more than fraud. You pay cash and they produce high quality traffic, supposedly, and you just sit back and make money.

Yeah right, yeah right.

Here are a couple of the ways in which they rip you off;

  1. Pop under annoyances that are normally blocked (and barely visible if they are not) and people automatically click off (but counted as legitimate traffic to you by these places)
  2. Bots visit your website (no human) every few minutes before your “traffic” is delivered and your hit counter or analytics record it
  1. Sweatshops abroad that sell clicks (dozens of people sitting in a room in China clicking on ads that have no intention or even the money to buy anything from you even if they wanted to)

As you can see traffic all from the same IP address, can be easy to find. Software that rotates their proxies and IP addresses have more complicated scams.

By taking a peek at your weblogs, spotting them also works. Before you close it, your typical user will remain on the website for some time. So look at your logs and see how long people are going to linger. Take and weigh the regular consumer against some of the more suspicious ones.

Bear in mind that in your logs, bots like Google or Yahoo can very clearly mark themselves and will have a short visit duration. Most possibly, the unique visitor that stays say 5 seconds, and tends to remain just 5 seconds visit after visit is part of a scam.

But probably for legitimate and confirmed media transactions or other credible tried and true sources, NEVER pay for traffic.

In this game, don’t be a victim, make sure you get the right information from the start.
